The Alexandria and Fairfax Counties [Virginia] Civil War Correspondence consists of 40 letters by 31 soldiers, dated between 1861 and 1862. Letters were written by soldiers stationed in and around Alexandria and Fairfax counties and Washington, D.C., in the first 12-16 months of the American Civil War.
Greer and Emilius Baughman Civil War Letters to Mary Jane Baughman
The collection contains two letters written by brothers and Confederate soldiers Greer and Emilius Baughman. The letters were written April 5, 1862, by Greer and July 26, 1863, by Emilius. Both letters were written to their mother, Mary Jane Greer Baughman, at home in Richmond.
Asa P. Blunt Letter,
The collection consists of a letter from Union soldier Brigadier General Asa P. Blunt (1826-1889), written to an unidentified cousin, from Fort Monroe, Va., on June 10, 1864.
Mima Brown Letter,
The collection consists of a letter written by "Mima Brown" from Pulaski, Virginia to her brother Pvt. James H. Farmer on November 8, 1863.
Cavalryman's Correspondence,
The collection consists of two letters written by "Mark," a Confederate cavalryman, to his father in 1861.

Confederate Repair Agreement For Beckley Mill (West) Virginia
This collection contains the memorandum of an agreement between General John B. Floyd and Thomas J. Leaford of Fayette County, Virginia (now part of West Virginia), for $598.03 for damages to Alfred Beckley's mill. Leaford is also instructed to obtain a deed of trust from Beckley to the Confederate States of America.
